Sumaria Industries Limited (SIL) is a
leader in the plastics packaging and plastics branded product
market in Kenya and Sub Saharan Africa. The company was
established in 1979 as a family concern. Today, it is one
of the most technologically advanced manufacturing concerns
in East Africa. It employs over three hundred people and
it continues to grow each year.
SIL provides a broad range of products from rigid packaging
for multi-national consumers to consumer products for the
retail consumer market. Some of the major customers in the
rigid packaging include Unilever and Bidco.
SIL is one of the first few companies in Sub Saharan Africa
to invest in fast cycling equipment and to deploy injection
molding, tubing, extruders and injection blow equipment.
It is the first company in Sub Saharan African to lay claim
of deploying the complex stack molds as well and boasts
an in-house mold-making facility.
