Cotton is one of the
major exports of Tanzania. In 1996, Sumaria Group established
S & C Ginning Co. Ltd for producing cotton lint.

The company is located
in Bulamba in the Lake Victoria Region.

S & C Ginning procures
unprocessed cotton from the farmers and gins it into
bales. The cotton lint produced compares with the best
in Tanzania.

The company has
an oil mill which produces quality edible oil out of
the cotton seed. While edible oil is consumed in Tanzania,
the majority of cotton lint produced is exported out
of the country.
